Unity Is

Unity is a nondenominational Christian ministry. Anyone is welcome; no one is required to perform rites or subscribe to creeds.

Unity's purpose is to nourish the spirit. We do this by applying metaphysical interpretations of the Bible to provide practical beliefs, works, and actions useful in improving our daily lives. Unity is practical Christianity; it is something to do. (Metaphysical means seeing beyond physical expressions of ideas to understand their spiritual and mental meanings.)

Unity believes GOD is love, all good, forgiving, and the only power and presence in the universe, source of all life. God's will for everyone is all good.

Unity believes that Jesus is God's earthly son, the great and divine Teacher and Way-Shower. We are God's hands, feet, eyes, and ears.

Unity is nonjudgmental, practicing unconditional love and acceptance.

Unity affirms we are all one together in the spirit of God.Spirit, the Christ, is the eternal, unchanging and indwelling activity of God running through minds and hearts of people.

The higher our level of consciousness (knowledge, awareness,and accetance of spirit) the greater and the sooner we experience our divine potential. People are at different places in their consciousness.

Unity states that people function according to the law of mind action - cause and effect - giving and receiving. The thoughts we hold, the words we speak, the actions we take shape our lives and experiences. (Luke 6:38 and Proverbs 23:7). We are ultimately responsible for our own experiences.

Prayers, meditations, affirmations, and denials, are tools we can use to raise our consciousness and shape our lives for the better.

Unity believes divine order prevails and ultimately all things work for our good.

Unity is loving, joyous, positive, musical, upbeat, instructive, and uplifting! Such concerns as hell, damnation, negativity, the devil, evil, unworthiness, and sin are not present in Unity teachings.
