An Evening of Theatre, Music & Reflection — June 25, 6:30 pm
The Unity Spiritual Enrichment Center welcomes internationally acclaimed actress and storyteller Nava Sarracino for A Cup of Tea: A Meeting with a Messenger of Peace —
an inspired evening of drama, music, and conversation about the enduring vision of world peace.
The evening opens with an introduction placing 'Abdu'l-Bahá in historical context. Born in Persia and exiled at nine years old with his father Bahá'u'lláh — founder of the Bahá'í Faith —
'Abdu'l-Bahá spent forty years as a prisoner. Upon his release he traveled to Egypt, Europe, and America, calling on the world to recognize the oneness of humanity
as the foundation for lasting peace. American newspapers of the day greeted him as the "Prophet of Peace" and the "Persian Peace Advocate."
Nava's dramatic monologue — written by Roger White and performed to critical acclaim around the world — brings this extraordinary figure vividly to life.
Musical interludes frame the performance, and the evening closes with an open discussion about peace in our own time.
Free admission. All are welcome. Refreshments and tea to follow.
